Indonesia Implements Prior Notice Requirement
USDEC has just received communication that The Indonesia Quarantine Agency (IQA) is implementing a new requirement that exporters of animal and animal products, including dairy products, must submit prior notice before departure. This mandatory submission applies to every shipment. The new requirement will be effective on October 6, 2024.
Details on registration are included in the Prior Notice section in Volume 2 of the Export Guide and are summarized below for your convenience. To submit prior notice, exporters can apply through the IQA's online portal. Before applying, please register for an account. For guidance on the registration and application process, refer to the user manual here.
Prior notice may require the following supporting documents/ information (not exhaustive):
- Sanitary Certificate
- Certificate of Analysis (COA)
- Information of the accreditation of the testing laboratory
- Certificate of Origin (COO)
- Import Permit
- Import Recommendation Letter
- GMO certificate number (if, applicable)
Exporters are advised to take the necessary actions to comply with this new requirement and ensure timely clearance of their shipments. Please work closely with your importers to meet the requirements.
