In follow up to a news release of March 22, 2016, the revised grandfathered South Korea plant list is now available on the USDEC website. All notified changes to the existing list of dairy plants have been incorporated. Exporters are asked to review the list and submit any changes or corrections via email korealist@usdec.org by close of business Tuesday, April 12. 

As a reminder, South Korea established February 4, 2016 as the cutoff date for the creation of the grandfathered livestock plant list, so any plants that shipped dairy products that were imported into South Korea after this date or have not shipped to South Korea will be instructed on how to register with the U.S. government to be added to the livestock plant list at a later date. Instructions on new plant registration will be provided to exporters as soon as they are available. 

Any processed dairy products may be imported under Korea’s Food Code, so exporters making products other than basic dairy products are encouraged to contact their importers to confirm whether their facilities should be registered as livestock plants, food plants or registered as both livestock plants and food plants. Instructions on the registration of food facilities is available upon request.
