Turkey Extends Market Access for U.S. Origin Dairy Products to October 31

The USDA's Foreign Agricultural Service (USDA-FAS) has informed the U.S. Dairy Export Council that Turkey has granted a market access extension to allow the two sides additional time to negotiate health certification language.

The Turkish Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock informed USDA-FAS that the APHIS certificate currently used will continue to be valid through the current extension, which is set to expire on October 31, 2015.  If an extension or new agreement is not reached in the meantime, no products with certificates dated after October 31, 2015, will be allowed entrance into Turkey.

USDEC will continue to monitor the situation and keep our membership updated.  If you have any questions, please contact Matt McKnight (mmcknight@usdec.org) or Mitch Bowling (mbowling@usdec.org) at (703)-528-3049.
