Butter and Milkfat Business Forum
December 15, 2026
Seoul, South Korea
The United States' shift from a butter-deficit to a surplus position is creating new opportunities to expand U.S. butter, AMF and milkfat ingredient exports. Marking the first of several anticipated milkfat-focused ingredient marketing activities globally, USDEC will bring U.S. suppliers and Korean customers together for an inaugural Butter and Milkfat Business Forum event in Seoul on December 15, 2026.
This half-day kick-off gathering will discuss shifts in U.S. milk component and milkfat production that are reshaping the United States' milkfat export capabilities, with a focus on bulk butter for industrial applications such as food and bakery manufacturing. It will also create opportunities for U.S. suppliers to connect directly with Korean customers and demonstrate the United States' readiness and enthusiasm to meet Korean demand for high-quality milkfat ingredients.
Korea has already emerged as a strong growth market, with imports of U.S. butterfat increasing 163% in the first seven months of 2026 compared with January-July in 2025, putting the market on pace for a new annual record.
Prior to the afternoon Business Forum, USDEC will also host a special members-only session in the morning offering perspectives and insights on the opportunities, challenges and imperatives for business success in the Korean butter and milkfat market.
