FDA says only Companies, not Brokers, can Update Registrations for Chile

August 26, 2016

The U.S. Dairy Export Council has learned through discussions with the FDA that only manufacturing companies can electronically update the FDA Unified Registration and Listing Systems (FURLS) Dairy Listing Module (DLM). This requirement differs from the past practice of allowing brokers and other business associates to register on a company's behalf.

Exporters to Chile are encouraged to ensure their facility's registration has been updated properly by their company to meet today's (August 26) FDA deadline.

The stipulations for Chile are part of a larger FDA effort to implement a new electronic filing system. Suppliers must complete new applications and biennial updates to plant lists for Chile, China and the EU electronically on the new FDA Unified Registration and Listing Systems (FURLS) Dairy Listing Module (DLM). Facilities must submit a separate application for each destination: Chile, China and the EU.
