Innovation opportunities with U.S. dairy proteins in Japan remain bright as customer and consumer recognition grows that usage promise extends beyond sports nutrition to mainstream, healthy foods and beverages. USDEC is hosting a seminar for Japan's food and beverage manufacturers highlighting possibilities to innovate protein-boosted products made with nutritious, functional and sustainably produced U.S. whey and milk protein ingredients. The event, held in conjunction with the FABEX Kansai 2022 show, is USDEC's first in-person activity in Japan since the start of the pandemic.

Food scientists from USDEC innovation partner Kiyota Sangyo will introduce Japan-friendly, health and wellness positioned product prototypes made with U.S. whey and milk protein ingredients, and how these deliver on both consumer and food and beverage manufacturer desires. Participants can also taste these prototype samples and hear new research findings assessing consumer feedback on these prototypes, including which products are of most interest and what product features appeals to them most. USDEC representatives from both Japan and the United States (appearing virtually) will also discuss the market situation and supply/demand outlook for U.S. dairy ingredients.

The seminar will be held in Osaka at INTEX OSAKA in Building 6, 5th Floor, Hall G from 1:30-3:00pm local time.
