From Nutrition to Taste, Dairy's Versatility Inspires Unique Formulations at IFT17
Real, wholesome ingredients are the complete package when innovating new food and beverage products. U.S. Dairy provides exactly that, showcased by prototypes from the U.S. Dairy Export Council® (USDEC) at the 2017 Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting & Food Expo. At the show, USDEC is celebrating the dairy community's new consumer engagement campaign, Undeniably Dairy,* with four prototypes that feature U.S. dairy ingredients' ability to provide unmatched taste, nutrition and functionality for a diverse range of applications. The frozen dairy matcha bar, whey protein cherry switchel, milk and honey bedtime beverage, and reduced-sodium udon soup were formulated with sustainably-produced dairy ingredients.
Specific to current trends, the prototypes show how U.S. Dairy helps formulators meet consumer demand for clean labels, high-quality protein and day-to-day convenience. Thanks to the diverse range of ingredients made from milk, each prototype has a set of benefits that target influential audiences. These benefits include healthy aging, muscle health, weight management, unique flavor profiles and global inspiration.
Visitors to Booth 2270 can learn how the U.S. dairy industry works alongside food and beverage manufacturers to help produce new products that are formulated successfully and sustainably to meet the needs of consumers. At the booth, they also can subscribe to USDEC's Dairy Spotlight, an online resource that offers weekly updates on marketing trends, events and other news around food and beverage development using ingredients that is brewed with nutrition from the start.
